Year 8 students at Savio Salesian College have been ‘Reaching for their Future’. Over a five week period the students developed their understanding of the skills needed to be successful and how to deal with life’s challenges.
This mental toughness programme aimed to build their resilience, increase student’s knowledge of STEM subjects and linked this to careers. The aim is that our students are better equipped to make informed decisions about their futures.
Alex Hay (Career Connect) has dynamically led these positive life affirming sessions which culminated in a ‘Meet the Professionals ‘ morning . This was a meaningful experience for both staff and students. We were honoured to have representatives from different organisations share their knowledge and provide an insight into their career pathways. We are most appreciative of Lloyds Bank, Eric Wright Construction, Sovini, John Sutch Cranes , Army and Local Government Offices who kindly gave their time .
