The Kindness of Strangers.
BBC Radio Merseyside were in school last week to interview six of our students (five in Year 7 and one in Year 11) to report on a random act of kindness in which they were all involved.
An elderly neighbour had fallen in her front garden and was calling for help. Six of our students were on their way into school and heard her cries for help. They immediately helped the lady back into her home, made her comfortable and then continued on their journey.
Later that day, on the way home from school, they called in with a small gift and to check on her wellbeing. None of the six students were looking for affirmation and replied that it was simply “the right thing to do”. St John Bosco, I am sure would be as equally proud as we are by this random act of kindness of our young people and this was reflected in the news item that they shared on the radio … Well Done Levi, Lucas, Rhys, Joe, Joel and Cyra-Leigh.
