Windmills Foundation Care Home Visit
In conjunction with the Windmills Foundation, a cohort of Year 7 students have been communicating in the virtual works with the residents of Byron Court Home, Bootle.
On Monday, this all changed as the students were allowed to visit the home to celebrate the Queen's Platinum Anniversary. There was afternoon tea, bingo and singing with a good time being had by all.
The residents shared some of their life experiences and our students were exemplary in their support, especially when assisting in the bingo.
As an extension of this programme, our ‘Changemakers’ group of Year 9 girls visited again to deliver fitness lessons and practise some beauty therapy upon the residents. The enthusiasm of the girls was infectious and the residents thoroughly enjoyed the experience. All students were praised for being a credit to the school and exhibiting such strong interpersonal skills.
