StreetChild World Cup Qatar 2022
Everton in the Community always go the extra mile for Savio Salesian College students, supporting them with their personal development and wellbeing.
In Year 10, a number of students participated in the ‘Kicks’ programme learning how to coordinate and lead events as well as developing their employability skills and build their engagement with school . Then along came the opportunity for four students to attend the 2022 Street Child United World Cup event in Qatar.

This was scheduled ahead of the FIFA World Cup 2022, with 28 teams, from 24 countries, representing street children across this globe at the Street Child World Cup 2022. 13 girls teams and 15 boys teams came together to participate in an international football tournament, a festival of arts and a congress, to champion the rights of underserved children worldwide.

The boys have returned inspired by their experience. They have learnt life lessons that will stand them in good stead for the future. They made links with their peers across the globe that they will sustain for the future. They have returned with renewed ambition to build a better future for themselves and to help others along the way. They have raised their aspirations for the future and will hopefully lift those around the world. They had a fantastic, life-changing experience today that will impact and be remembered in the future.

Listen to Radio Merseyside and you will hear the boys sharing their experiences.
