Royal Navy Cooking Challenge

This week we had a visit from The Royal Navy Logistics Recruiting Team who came in to present a fun but informative presentation to a group of Year 10 and 9 students to explain how they function and operate in branch and as a military service.

This was followed by a Ready Steady Cook Challenge where pupils were put into groups and given a box of ingredients to make 2 dishes. The aim was to produce a chicken and mushroom pie and a sticky toffee pudding following the recipes given within a time frame of 90 minutes, before presenting them to our serving Navy visitors George and Harry.

This was a great activity to exercise the student's initiative, teamwork, communication and time keeping skills. The activity (and the food) was thoroughly enjoyed by everyone. Well done to all involved!
